Sprinkler Problems

May 22, 2011

With our spring time already upon us, we all have increased our watering. This usually is the time when the sprinkler problems begin to pop up. Check first in your valve box when the sprinklers are on. See if there are any small drips or sprays. Sometimes a small grain of sand will get stuck in the valve and will not let the diaphragm seat properly.

Also check your sprinkler heads for spray direction and of course your drip heads to make sure there is enough water flowing through them. The drip heads are the ones that get clogged up first and before you know it, you have a dead plant.

If you do see an excess amount of water flowing up from around the sprinkler head, you might have to replace the riser.
