Dishwasher Air Gap Device

May 31, 2011

This particular homeowner decided to use the hole in the sink for their new reverse osmoses spigot rather than for the dishwasher air gap device. They left it hooked up but stuck up under the sink.

The problem is, these devices can get clogged and then they leak. Now when I say they leak, I mean sometimes I have seen all of the water in the dishwasher come out of it.

That is a lot of water all over your kitchen cabinet and floor. They need to reconsider to have another hole cut in the sink. If they cannot, then the next best thing is to add on to the drain hose and have it loop up real high under the sink, then down into the disposal.
